How to Access Clean Needles in Vermont
Sterile syringes are available at pharmacies throughout Vermont without a prescription. Syringes cost approximately 50 cents per syringe, or approximately $4.00 for a box of 10 (estimate only).
Syringe Exchange Programs (SEP) are located in Burlington, St. Johnsbury, and White River Junction. Possession of needles and syringes as part of a SEP is not in violation of Vermont’s paraphernalia law.
Syringe exchange in these locations is free, legal, and anonymous.
