Vermont Smoking Restriction Laws

Secondhand tobacco smoke can result in eye and throat irritation, and increase the risk of lung cancer and respiratory diseases. Vermont has three smoking restriction laws which protect the public from secondhand tobacco smoke.

Smoking in the Workplace Law - protects employers and employees by restricting smoking in the workplace.

Tobacco on the School Grounds Law - protects students, teachers and the public by prohibiting the use of tobacco on public school gounds.

Smoking in Public Places Law - also known as the Clean Indoor Air Act, protects public health by prohibiting the possession of lighted tobacco products in most places to which the general public has access.
